Hi well we are renting from Del and Del here in Cumberland MD and they are trying to sue us they are very negligent on keeping

They haven't done the work that needs to be done to live in this place I have no idea how it even passed inspection! We have been lied to over and over again have dealing with roaches for the past year and 3 months they wont get a professional and its gross never have had bugs or anything like this before in my life! We have social services involved and they wont even return her calls. We are fed up there is much more to this situation but too much to write.

  1. Unfortunately, you have now met the Slumlords of Cumberland, Maryland. I rented from them a few years ago and when my lease was up I moved out. It takes them forever to do repairs, they rent to lowlife people that you don't want as neighbors. They are just out to get as much money out of you as they possibly can with little service in return. Denise paid $50,000 cash for that car she drives around in collecting rent money. They need to pass a law in the city of Cumberland to deal with slumlords like them. They are contributing to the destruction of the community. Sorry you are having to go thru this. I would suggest filing a lawsuit in court for rent escrow.

    The apartment I rent from this company has not repaired the heat, electrical, or water issues. I have made multiple calls and they are hanging up. I am presently a tenant at ********************************** On December 29, 2017, I contacted Denise DeLawder at XXX-XXX-XXXX to report the problems in the unit, including no heat, electrical problems, and water issues. I have contacted her multiple times since that date and no repairs have been made. My uncle, a licensed HVAC tech with >15 years of experience, traveled 2 hours to bring me portable warmers. He found the 3 main baseboard heaters to be inoperable due to a defective breaker (needing replacement). We attempted to warm the unit with 2 small portable heaters, but those breakers (separate from the baseboard heaters) kept tripping even though those breakers are 15 amps and he purposely bought me 12 amp heaters (the smallest he could find) to stay under. Neither of the small voltage heaters would stay on for even a few minutes without tripping the breaker. Due to the disrepair of the heat and electrical utilities, there is water frozen solid in the tub and we are unable to run the water. We are unable to shower. Additionally, the light in the bathroom drips water and is inoperable. This was a prior reported problem that has been persisting since August of 2017, when we first reported that problem. We have been afraid to touch it related to the water that was dripping from it, though that has stopped now that the water in it is frozen. Through all of these problems, we have paid our rent on time every month, including this one. We are seeking assistance in resolving these issue and being compensated for the deplorable and uninhabitable conditions we have been subjected to. We can not afford to just relocate, yet it is like we are paying rent to live on the street. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
    Desired Outcome

    I am seeking a refund for time spent without utilities, including the heat and water in the bathroom. I am not looking to be unreasonable. I simply think it is unfair to pay rent for utilities not provided and the total disregard for my health and safety. Despite multiple attempts to resolve these problems, this landlord said "I'm getting frustrated. I don't care. Go wait in line with everyone else." and hung up. The entire conversation was witnessed by 3 adult outside parties. The landlord was informed and aware that other parties were witnessing the conversation. I would also like to be able to move into suitable living conditions without penalty of breaking a lease.

  4. I have rented since I was 18years old so last 20 years. I always paid my rent well last couple months I was 2 weeks to 3 weeks late so they filed for eviction when they did i went to court n a lot of late fees were added that were not on previous Bill's he said he would drop then if i dont move out I stated to guys are evicting me for being 3 weeks late. So I moved so I wasn't kicked out on streets and now they are suing me because when I was evicted he wanted me to leave the electric and gas on for a couple months I cant make this up I've never been treated do bad they never fixed water pump.in basement always leaking never fixed back door or middle room door I had one door and that was my front door all rise was broke and never fixed
